UNITED STATES OF AL-QAEDA

Just as I predicted in my last article when I warned people not to celebrate too early the UN veto of China and Russia on a resolution against Assad, Friday in Tunisia, 75 countries who describe themselves as “friends of Syria” have gathered to discuss a way of pressuring Assad to resign.  This meeting was a way to circumvent the Russian and Chinese veto, and clear the road for the Wahhabis terrorists to take over Syria.  In Tunis, several important decisions were made:  Number one, the countries holding the meeting have asked for a cease fire to assess the situation in Syria.  Number two, discussions were held on the possibility of sending a UN peacekeeping mission to Syria.  Number three, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Syrian population was agreed upon.  Number four, the freezing of assets of the Syrian Central Bank by the EU was decided.  Last but not least, the Saudis proposed arming the rebels with weapons, stating that any other option alone was “not enough.”  This Saudi proposal met no opposition by any of the delegates attending the meeting, effectively clearing the road for more violence in Syria.  Hillary Clinton stated that Assad “will pay a heavy cost for human rights violations,” a statement that “prophesize” a Gaddafi-type of end for Assad.  Clinton added that “Assad’s days are numbered.”

Representatives of the Syrian National Council (SNC) were also present at the meeting.  The Syrian rebels attending the meeting were quick to reassure the delegates that, if the Assad regime was defeated, they would reach out to all “minorities” in Syria.  We should be glad to hear that, according to the SNC, the Christians, the Kurds, and the Alawites are now going to be “safe.”  All these phony statements are easily rebuked by looking at what has happened in Kosovo, Libya, Egypt and Iraq.  Clearly, the minorities in Syria do not share the same hope.  The statement by the SNC is just propaganda.  In fact, the minorities do not trust the Syrian rebels.  In the last few days, a Christian and moderate Islamic delegations traveled to Moscow to plead support and protection from Putin should, in the worst case scenario, Assad fall.  Back in November, the Patriarch of Moscow traveled to Damascus to hold talks with Assad, giving Assad words of encouragement and, in return, the promise from Assad that as long as he’s in power, the Christians will be protected.  Upon meeting with the Syrian minority delegation in Moscow, Putin pledged to protect them, but Putin’s promise hinges upon Putin’s survival in the upcoming presidential elections.

History teaches us the dangers of arming freedom fighters.  Look at the unholy alliance between Al-Qaeda and the United States.  In two videos, one released back in June of last year and one a few days ago, Al-Qaeda leader Al-Zawahiri exhorted the Syrian rebels to rise against the Assad regime, which, according to Al-Zawahiri, is embedded with the United States in repressing its Muslim population.  The irony of Al-Zawahiri’s words is clear, even to a person with little knowledge of geopolitics: Al-Zawahiri’s comment contradicts the behavior of the American government toward the Assad regime.  Under the rule of the Assad family, Syria was never a puppet in the hands of the Americans, quite the contrary.  Bashar Al-Assad, and his father before him Hafez Al-Assad, has always been a thorn in the side of American diplomacy in the region.  Syria has always leaned more toward the USSR first, and to Putin’s Russia today, than it has toward the United States.  Perhaps Al-Zawahiri was confusing Assad with his compatriot, Hosmi Mubarak, who had always been an instrument in the hands of the American and Israeli governments, only to be back-stabbed by the Obama Administration during the Arab Spring (a just “reward” for thirty years of Mubarak’s servitude to the United States and Israel).  Some people suggested that Al-Zawahiri has come out in support of the Syrian rebels as a way to discredit the Obama Administration, by showing that Al-Qaeda is in cahoots with the United States.  This theory makes no sense.  I doubt that Al-Zawahiri is that sophisticated in his way of thinking, and his actions are guided more by ideology than tactical maneuvers.  Al-Zawahiri and Al-Qaeda don’t need to demonstrate their allegiance to the United States to discredit the Americans, quite the contrary.  The truth is Al-Qaeda is a creation of the American government.  The disciples of Al-Qaeda are crawling back to their master that’s all.  There is a direct correlation between the Egyptian and the Libyan uprisings orchestrated by the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical Muslim elements, with the uprising in Syria, also a direct connection between Al-Qaeda and the “freedom fighters” operating in Syria, Libya, and Egypt.  There are reports of Libyan fighters’ crossing over into Egypt and joining elements of the Muslim Brotherhood on their way to Syria.  There are also unconfirmed reports of Islamic militants crossing into Syria from the border with Iraq to join terrorists there engaged in fighting the Syrian government.  It is a “holy movement” where some of the major players in the Syrian uprising are the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda.  Despite what the Muslim Brotherhood wants you to believe, that they are now a legitimized “democratic force,” it’s been proven that Egyptian Al-Zawahiri considered the Muslim Brotherhood a useful ally in the pursuit of the radicalization of Muslim states.  In his video, referring to Syria, Al-Zawahiri stated that “If we want freedom, we must be liberated from this regime.  If we want justice, we must retaliate against this regime.” How did I miss making the connection earlier between Al-Qaeda, “freedom,” “justice,” and perhaps human rights?  What a nice minestrone.  Al-Qaeda = Muslim Brotherhood = Libyan Islamic Fighting Group = human rights activists and organizations, and finally, the Obama Administration and the Western leaders, passionately together in the pursuit of “freedom and justice.”   So how surprising is it to find Al-Qaeda and the United States together in this scheme to overthrow Assad’s regime?  We have now finally come full circle.

Al-Qaeda was a creation of the United States during the Afghanistan/Soviet Union invasion:  A child born out of Operation Cyclone.  Zbigniew Brzezinski, an overrated and dangerous “genius”, who as the Security Advisor to the Carter Administration, was the mastermind behind the CIA Operation Cyclone.  Operation Cyclone officially started as soon as the invasion by the Soviets into Afghanistan took place.  Cyclone was the most expensive operation in the history of the CIA.  In July 1979, President Carter authorized the first installment of $500 million to aid the Mujahedeen fighting the Soviets.  Over the years, under the Reagan Administration, the flow of money, training and weapons continued until in 1989, after a decade-long and grueling war, the Soviets left Afghanistan.  Shortly afterward the Soviet Union fell.  As the Soviets left Afghanistan and the USSR disintegrated, the Americans left as well.  They left the Pakistani government and the Mujahedeen to their destinies, along with all the weapons and training.  The Taliban and Al-Qaeda are the subsequent results of Operation Cyclone, an operation created by the “genius” Brzezinski.  When Brzezinski arrived in Pakistan in 1979 and met with the Mujahedeen going over to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan, he had inspiring words for them.  “We know of your belief in God and we are confident that your struggle will succeed.  Afghanistan is yours…your fight will prevail and you will have your houses and your mosques back.  This is because your cause is right and God is on your side.”  As you can see, you don’t need Osama Bin Laden or Al-Zawahiri to inspire the Muslims to fight.  Brzezinski was as effective with his words as any other radical Imam.  All in all, conservative estimates speak of a final price tag for Operation Cyclone of $5 billion.

As we can see, there is nothing more radical than American foreign policy.  To point fingers at the radical stances of Assad and Iran is hypocritical at best.  Hillary Clinton once admitted that “The people we are fighting today (Islamic terrorists), we founded them.  We did it because we did not want the Soviet Union to control all Central Asia.”

For Al-Qaeda and Al-Zawahiri the purpose of going against Syria and the Assad family is to create a fertile climate for the furthering of radical Islam. For the Muslim Brotherhood, the purpose is retaliation for the 1982 annihilation of 7,000 of its members in the City of Hama by Assad’s father. The Americans believe that by supporting the uprising in the Middle East and allying themselves with the radical Muslims, they can achieve two purposes:  First, the furthering of democracy in the region; and second, extending control over the Middle East.  But just as Operation Cyclone taught us, perhaps not tomorrow, but in the next 20 years it’s guaranteed that, as Obama’s hateful Pastor Reverend Wright once said, “The chickens will come home to roost.”
